BRIEF DESKRIPTION
Kendari Bay Represents a Key waters ecosystem in the city of Kendari. This
is because it is not only important to regulate the micro climate around the
city, but also it stores varied biodiversity of many fish mollusks, mangroves
sea grass and coral reefs. Additionaly the bay has other values ranging from
aesthetic and economic to existent point of views. However some anthropogenic
activities around the bay and along the watershed of the three big rivers
emptied to the bay have been jeopardizing the future of the bay. Two seriously
noticed impacts are sedimentation and water pollution.
Various learning strategies are required to increase the students’
concern about the preservation of kendari bay. One of them is to adopt and the
develop active, innovative, creative, effective and enjoyable learning methods.
In this project we are combining direct instruction and art gallery by using
computer sets and internet to stimulate the students’ concern and appreciation
about the bay.
Generally we start the project by presenting some issues and problems
related to the bay in stucturized instruction of the students and them
organizing sife visit and field observation. Afer that, the students are
required to make reportage in fancy art works about their findings and further
suggested actions formulated within their groups.
